Hôtel du Sentier in Paris 2nd arrondissement
Hôtel du Sentier, located on Rue du Caire, is one of Paris's few artistic ethnic buildings. Given its location, the building has an Egyptian aesthetic, implying the thought that went into designing it to be so alluring. One of the most eye-catching architectural features is the face of Goddess Hathor on the building, which truly embodies the power of classicism and is the main tantalising point for people with a strong sense of art.
The check-in is in a downstairs building with windows all around, and to get to your room, you exit it and enter the small complex directly in front, which houses the restaurant and the rooms. It feels like the hotel is open and you can move around freely, giving it a classy aura. Hôtel du Sentier has been open for over a year, but the spike in notoriety is obvious. The location is captivating, but that is not the only incentive. Everything exudes perfection, from the picturesque interior of the restaurant to the impeccable service, Le Sentier is flawless.
Owners, Charlotte and Samuel Castro, like the architecture, have an amazing blend of backgrounds. Charlotte has been an actress for a long time, and Samuel is a doctor who still works as an emergency physician. Despite coming from different areas of life and being new to the hotel business, they have made their mark in every aspect of the hotel industry, which is quite impressive.
Spacious rooms with an impeccable interior
The rooms are another example of artistry, with their perfect roofs and nice wooden floors that gleam in the sunlight. The small space in the corner blends with the colour scheme and gives off such warm, cosy vibes you can sit there and work comfortably, just like at home. They also have a coffee machine in each room, which adds flavour to everything; with that they give vacuum-sealed beans to keep them fresh, the smell of freshly brewed coffee brings the ultimate comfort. Everything has a homey feeling to it, which you don't just find everywhere. The rooms are beautifully lit by the natural light during the day, with the view contributing to the feeling of living in a vintage, sunlit dream.
The private rooms also have balconies with views of the crest of Eustache Church and the Eiffel Tower. Adding more to the quirkiness, they have adjoining rooms for family or friends, which makes it so vibrant and reassuring. Everything is so conscientiously coordinated, which demonstrates their devotion to hospitality in the neighbourhood.
Restaurant
There is no sincere love other than the love of food, and Le Sentier does not pass up the chance. Brasserie-style cuisine with fresh and seasonal ingredients, they have simple yet perfect comforting food. Everything is flavourful, whether it's an appetiser, a main course, or a dessert. From 7 a.m to 10:30 pm you can have your meals, just sitting on the terrace, with the view of people doing their chores peacefully, while biting on nice food, has its own charm. Our personal favourites were the avocado and gravlax salmon with marinated farro grains, merely delightful. Simple, classic, cliche mealtimes in a decent setting make you experience the real essence of tranquillity and vacation.
They also offer a diverse selection of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, cold and hot, whenever and whatever you want. You can read a book while sipping coffee or simply relax with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. All the perks of being in Paris are just you, your peace, and no complications.
Neighbourhood
Sunsets and distant crowds, Rue du Caire is just like a typical Parisian neighbourhood. On weekends, you can see people walking around and heading to the trendy coffeeshops next door in a serene ambience. Cobblestone streets lined with freshly painted town houses, shops, cafes and parks, perfect to wander around. You'll see an embracing way of life everywhere, and that allows you to relax and unwind just urging you to live in the moment for a while.
The hype surrounding the hotel is rational, they have built everything worth it over 1.5 years. One can see how they were able to stand out among so many analogous hotels. With sunsets and delicious food, you can unwind and explore the secrets of life a little more. Paris continues to amaze as always and do not disappoint.
