We come to Ibiza hoping to experience something unique. Often, we see it as an expensive party island but in reality, Eivissa has so much more to offer. Back in the 90’s, UNESCO inscribed a selection of the island’s cultural and natural assets on the World Heritage List under the title ‘Ibiza, Biodiversity and Culture’. This might explains why we feel like Ibiza has “been the same” and well-preserved through the years
Ibiza can be done on a budget starting with your accommodation. We came across a beautiful family-run hostel in Central San Antonio that feels more like a trendy boutique hotel than the typical hostel.
Cana Rita story
Cana Rita started back in 1958 as a family grocery store on Calle Bartolome Vicente. Rita and her husband started to notice the important amount of tourists and soon decided to add some rooms to their property.
The hostel, which allows you to book your very own room with bathroom, has been around the family for 3 generations. You will often see them renovate some rooms and common areas to make sure the space is always up to date.
The location
Being in the center of San Antonio is, for a first timer, an amazing location. Sant-Antoni-de-Portmany, the main bus station, is only a few minutes by walk making things easy when visiting the island. You will also find affordable grocery stores, restaurants and even a delicious bakery allowing you to eat fresh croissants every morning.
Home away from home
Cana Rita’s family members will help you with anything such as the best spots to be, any requirements or questions you might have and even PCR test at the hostel if needed. Cana Rita feels small, safe and most importantly, like home.
